Chip received his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Maryland, University College, and went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Washington College of Law at American University in Washington, D.C., both while working full time.  He is licensed to practice law before the Maryland courts.  He founded the Law Office of Charles R. Stewart with the goal of providing custom-tailored, yet affordable, estate planning and other legal services. 

In addition to his practice, Chip finds time to serve on the Board of Directors of the Washington County Bar Association, the Small and Solo Practice Section of the Maryland Bar Association, and sits as a commissioner on the Washington County Historic District Commission.  He is a member of the Estates & Trusts section, the Elder Law section, the Small and Solo Practice, and a charter member of the Animal Law section of the Maryland State Bar Association.  

In addition to his legal practice, Charles “Chip” Stewart has owned, operated, and managed a number of businesses, including restaurant, retail, and service businesses.  He is an active member of his local Rotary club, and currently resides in Hagerstown with his wife, Valerie, and son, Liam.
